You need to first decide whether you want to conduct a chair yoga workshop or you want to use yoga mats. The next step is identifying the space for the workshop. If you want to use yoga mats, you need to arrange for yoga mats according to the number of people expected. A space of 800 square feet can easily accommodate 20 mats. 10 more mats can fit in with a little adjustment and the practices can be chosen accordingly by the yoga teacher. For chair yoga, 60 people can be accommodated in 800 square feet. Needless to say, you need to setup and check the audio/visual system beforehand.
You need to plan atleast a fortnight in advance. Proper build up towards the event is necessary. Your marketing or corporate communications team can assist you as with any other workshop, after carefully choosing the day and time of the workshop.
This kind of workshop can be conducted on a short notice. It is useful when people are attending from different places, especially their homes. Here too, proper build-up is necessary for maximum participation. The participants should be communicated the instructions for setting up their space and checking their audio/video in advance, so that the workshop can be conducted smoothly.
90 minutes is the ideal duration for a yoga workshop, in order to experience the different practices of yoga and to allow time for introduction and questions. However, in case of time constraint, the workshop can be designed accordingly.
A yoga workshop can be conducted in the morning or in the evening. A gap of 2-3 hours between the last meal and the workshop is necessary. Tea/coffee, fruits or dry fruits in small quantities can be had before the workshop.
